How to Read Version Numbers

Monster Lab Simulator uses a version string visible in-game (exact location: check Settings or the main menu title screen). The format may follow Steam build numbers or an internal versioning scheme.

Finding Your Version

  1. Launch Monster Lab Simulator.
  2. Open the Settings menu or check the main menu for a version string (e.g., "v0.X.X" or a Steam build number).
  3. Note the full string exactly as shown — do not abbreviate.
  4. Record this alongside any data you collect (recipes, economy values, achievement conditions).

Why Version Tracking Matters

Early Access games can change:

  • Economy values (sell prices, essence costs, order rewards)
  • Breeding output pools
  • Evolution Machine behavior
  • Achievement conditions
  • Habitat recovery rates

Data recorded without a version number may be misleading or harmful to other players.

Tip: Every guide on this wiki includes a "Version Notes" section. Always cross-reference the version when using community data.
