Fusion & Evolution Guide
Master the dual upgrade systems of Monster Lab Simulator. Learn how natural evolution and artificial fusion work together to create powerful monsters, maximize stat gains, and dominate the economy with advanced fusion strategies.
What You'll Learn
Understanding the Two Systems
Monster Lab Simulator features two distinct upgrade systems that work in parallel: Evolution (natural growth through time) and Fusion (artificial enhancement through combination). Understanding when to use each system is crucial for maximizing your monsters' potential and economic value.
Evolution (Natural Growth)
Free, time-based progression through three life stages. All monsters naturally evolve as they age, gaining stats and visual changes.
Evolution Stages:
- Hatchling: Base form (0-24 hours)
- Juvenile: +30% stats (24-48 hours)
- Adult: +60% stats (48+ hours)
Fusion (Artificial Upgrade)
Instant rarity upgrade by combining three identical monsters. Sacrifices quantity for quality, creating exponentially stronger variants.
Fusion Requirements:
- 3× Same Species: Must be identical monsters
- Same Stage: All Hatchling, Juvenile, or Adult
- Rarity Jump: Common → Epic → Legendary
Fusion Mechanics Deep Dive
Rarity Upgrade Paths
Fusion skips the Uncommon and Rare tiers entirely, jumping directly from Common to Epic, then Epic to Legendary. This makes fusion the fastest path to high-rarity monsters.
First Fusion
Second Fusion
Maximum Rarity
Cannot fuse further
Total Cost to Legendary
Creating one Legendary requires 9 Common monsters: 3 Commons → 1 Epic, then 3 Epics (9 Commons total) → 1 Legendary
Stat Multipliers & Power Scaling
Fusion provides exponential stat increases that far exceed natural evolution. Each rarity tier multiplies base stats by increasingly larger factors.
| Rarity | Attack | Defense | Health | Multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Common | Base | Base | Base | 1.0× |
Epic | +130% | +120% | +140% | 2.3× |
Legendary | +280% | +260% | +300% | 3.8× |

Common Bour
Epic Bour
Legendary Bour
Fusion Economics & ROI
Value Comparison: Selling vs Fusion
Fusion provides 2-3× more value than selling monsters separately. This makes it the most profitable strategy for common monsters with high spawn rates.
❌ Selling Separately
✅ Fusion Strategy
Legendary Fusion ROI
9× Common Bour (1,350 coins if sold) → 1× Legendary Bour (5,000+ coins) = +270% profit increase
Advanced Fusion Strategies
The "Chancho Rush" (Bour Spam Strategy)
The most popular early-game fusion strategy. Bour (Common Fire monster) has the fastest synthesis time and lowest essence cost, making it ideal for mass production and fusion chains.
Strategy Steps:
- 1.Mass Produce: Synthesize 9-27 Bour using Fire + Fire essence (cheapest recipe)
- 2.First Fusion Wave: Fuse 3 sets of 3 Commons → 3 Epic Bour
- 3.Second Fusion Wave: Fuse 3 Epic Bour → 1 Legendary Bour
- 4.Sell or Battle: Use Legendary for tournaments or sell for 5,000+ coins
Advantages
- Fastest synthesis time (3 minutes)
- Lowest essence cost (100 coins)
- High ROI (270%+ profit)
- Scales with lab upgrades
Disadvantages
- Requires 20+ storage slots
- Time-intensive (1-2 hours)
- Market saturation risk
- Hygiene management needed
Fusion Flipping for Profit
Buy underpriced Common monsters from the market, fuse them into Epics or Legendaries, then sell at premium prices. This arbitrage strategy works best during market inefficiencies.
Profitable Flip Targets:
Pro Tip: Market Timing
Buy Commons during weekend oversupply (prices drop 20-30%), fuse during the week, and sell Epics/Legendaries during tournament seasons when demand peaks.
Stage Optimization Strategy
Fusing Adult-stage monsters provides the highest stat output, but requires 48+ hours of waiting. Balance time investment with profit goals.
